At times like this, I wish life was a 30 minute sitcom

So far this morning, LB has been in three time-outs, hasn’t stopped crying because I will not make pancakes (apparently the French piss her off because French Toast does not bode well) and the baby hasn’t moved once in three hours. I thought by boss was tough. I thought trying to please 36 students and 12 administration was bad. I thought design deadlines were stressful.

Nobody tops a pissed off toddler. Nobody.

If this were the Brady Bunch my maid (who does all my cleaning, laundry, and talking to my kids after-school-special-style) would have something witty to say and we’d laugh and the credits would roll.

Instead, welcome to my Monday. Grab on. I hear hell is a rocky ride.

    Three time-outs before noon.

You’re going to need Calgon by the end of the day.

The good news is that by the time CB arrives LB will, hopefully, have gotten a lot of the terrible twoisms out of her system. Plus she’ll be shell shocked from the sheer reality that she’s not the only one vying for your attention and will vy for your attention by being good!

Sending you virtual non-alcoholic martinis by the buckets.

You’ve got company on that rocky ride.

I’m *still* waiting for the tantrums to subside (no, I’m not making french toast and bacon and eggs at 8am, here’s a bowl of cheerios).

We had the first tantrum at 8:30 this morning when I wouldn’t let my daughter go outside in pajamas (31 degrees outside!)

I’m sure CB is trying to sleep now, when it’s relatively quiet.  My poor son will never know quiet around here thanks to the vocal big sister (who is currently protesting nap time).

If I was closer, I’d bring you a latte and a scone!

Kitchen tantrums… what’s with that? We have an awful lot of dinner-time tantrums. OY.

Those are the days where I spend between 4 and 4:30 PM staring out the front window, wondering, “Where is my husband!?!?!?!”  And when he walks in the door, he gets a long lecture about what “HIS” child did and why I’m losing my mind slowly.  It was one of those days where he asked me, “What are you going to do when we have 3 kids if you can’t handle 2?”  Yes, he lived after that comment….but just barely.  wink  This is the same man that is exhuasted after watching the toddler for 4 hours…just babysitting, no housework or having to care for a 6 week velcro-monkey.  Thanks, dear….
