I believe my child may be solely responsible for Global Warming

Haven’t you heard? it’s all the latest rage to freak out about Global Warming.  But I have the answer. I know the cause. Don’t bother spending billions of dollars on research. Stand near my two year old and you’ll be exposed to more methane than you think is humanly possible.

We all have “The Bug.” I made a rash decision not to take LB down to Oregon this weekend (alone. read: ALONE) when I was feeling just so exhausted and she had a runny nose. I thought, “just in case” I’d keep her up here. “Just in case” turned in to puking two hours later. “Just in case” turned in to the most wicked poo ever. “Just in case” brought Mr. Flinger and I to our knees both hugging different toilets and cursing day care.

I will never, ever, again be “too busy” to get a flu shot, or “too pregnant” or “too clueless” of where to go. Welcome to Flu Season. Grab a mask.

There is nothing worse than a stomach bug.

I hope you all are feeling better by tomorrow! The only good thing about them is they usually blow right through you within about 24 hours.

Blow…heh heh heh. Sorry. My inner 13-year-old boy took over for a second. wink

LOL! Jamie, I thought the same thing. “Blow. hehhehehe.”

Wow. I’m glad I’m not alone.

Thanks, Rachel. I’m actually the one doing better today while Mr. Flinger moans and sweats in his sleep. Maybe it’s a sex dream. (HAR)

Girl, don’t be too hard on yourself. We 3 got flu shots, we 3 got the same damn stomach flu. It is just cruel to be 7 months preggo and get the stomach flu. Feel better soon!

Oh my…That’s just awful!  We had a bout with a stomach bug before Christmas…it only stayed with each person for about 14 hours, but still, ick.

I hope y’all feel better soon.

    Ugh…

I feel for you, I really do.  And you thougt you were past all the puking by now.  I’ve also gotten it bad after having a flu shot, there are no guarantees.  Hence, no point in kicking yourself for it. smile

OK - #1 - hope you feel better. #2 - being that I don’t have children yet - I have always wondered. If you and your “other” are both praying to the porcelin god yourself - How do you take care of a child who is doing the same? does it become a family outing in the bathroom? Adjoining trash cans?

If it makes you feel any better, the flu shot doesn’t protect against the stomach flu.  It protects against influenza viruses - the high fever, aches, pains, cough, can’t-get-out-of-bed type flu.  How do I know this?  Our family has had the stomach flu TWICE in 2 months (that is all of us - our 3.5 year old, our 18 month old and two 30-ish parents) and we’ve all had our flu shots. The pediatrician said no dice - its for the OTHER flu.  Like that helped us feel any better.  Hang in there!

OH, Sharon, really?! I didn’t know that. Really, they should tell people this! Ok, so at least I can let go of the guilt part of being sick.

And yea, Margaret, it’s been.. er.. fun. It’s whichever parent is not currently hurling that takes the kiddo. She, go figure, is in full energy. She puked on Friday night and popped right up, “Ready to go!” We, on the other hand, feel like dog poo but luckily I had my worst day yesterday and he had his today. So we took turns changing the smelliest diapers EVAH. It was whoever wouldn’t hurl right then that got the card.

Thanks for the well wishes, y’all. We seem (crossing fingers) on the mend.

So very sorry for you.  I hope you are all well soon.

I’ve been feeling blah for the last four days, but not completely sick.

    Ack!

We have head colds here, but I’d take that any day over a stomach bug!

    Feel better soon….

Sorry you aren’t feeling that great.  We are working through our own sicknesses, but fortuneately not the stomch flu.  Ours are more sinus related.  I had just about gotten over one thing when I got this last thing.  UGH.

It seems like you had your hands full, between being sick yourself and your child (and being pregnant!).  It is a good reminder to keep up with preventative medicine.
