I turned off the damn light, didn’t I?
I was almost euphoric for over a week. I had a great birthday party with the girls, a great weekend and LB party, I was caught up at work and feelin’ grand.
Until tonight.
Look, young f&ckers, when the porch light is turned off, when the house lights are not on, when there is a sign saying, “DO NOT RING THE DOORBELL,” and when it’s 9:45pm, I don’t care if it’s Halloween, DO NOT RING THE DOORBELL.
You woke up the baby. And now, you have to suffer.

Damn idiots! That crap bugs the shit out of me. Do people just have no knowledge of what is socially appropriate? Sorry to hear.
I totally understand. Today we skipped out on the whole thing after a busy afternoon with my husband’s promotion ceremony, the kids were tired and hungry. So we just went home and ate. Porch light was off, and we had about 12 rings of the door bell. We had the lights off and the TV on. We never answered it, they would just stay there and ring. When I was a kid, you went where there was light, you were like a fly migrating and fighting your way to that light. Ah, oh well! My kids fortunetly were so tired they slept through them all except 1.
I’m sorry they woke up LB, that is just WRONG. Esp when you had a sign! SHEESH. We had a similar situation, only it was at 9:08pm and we were all up, so it wasn’t a big deal. Hubby answered the door and gave them a mini lecture on what a unlit porchlight means on Halloween!
Please tell me you took out the can of whoop ass on them, cuz I can tell you I would have laid into them. Surprisingly we had no kids after 7:30, but we still went through 8 bags of candy.

Heh… Our neighborhood has no street lights, so once we turn off the porch light, you take your life in your hands walking up our cracked and wet driveway and risk running into the wood piled up by the front door. Especially because there was no moonlight because of the rain. We only had 9 trick-or-treaters, and the last ones came by at 7:30. At least we had *good* candy as one girl enthusiastically told dh.
Did any of the kids look eeriely similar to your direction-following college students?!?

Yup, you’re right. Like I’m going to have any crap candy in the house (that I’ll inevitably eat) at 15 weeks pregnant. We had Kit Kats, and still have a bag that needs to be taken care of.
