September 11, 2001: Where was I?
I don’t need a picture to remember.
*Update* Y’all, I didn’t write a long post because I felt wrung out and unable to say what I wanted. But please go read these posts. They are touching and real and it brings back memories and new resolves and resolution. I can’t say it as well, so I’m not going to try. All I have to add is, “Hellya. And amen.”
Please leave a comment with a url if you have a post about 9/11 so I can add you here. Thank you.

Better late than never…I reposted a memorial I wrote last year about New York Firefighter Peter Freund.

You were in Glendalough? What a weird coincidence, that I as an Irish person was here in the states while you were there when this happened. Not that it really matters - I think the whole world stood still that day.
thank you for linking to my post!
You were in ireland?! I had just gotten home from Scotland on the 10th. I was wasted, jet-lagged, and ever so grateful to be HOME when everything went down. My brother was stranded for the better part of a week in the UK, but luckily got through alright.
I remember how numb I was.
I still have nightmares about the Twin Towers sometimes. Crazy.
“Hellya. And amen.” Says it just fine.
I work four blocks from the WTC site. I was standing at my office window from a few minutes after the first plane hit and until the second plane went into the tower. After the first tower fell, they evacuated us to the bank in the lobby of our office building and I watched the second tower fall from there. I walked from Wall Street to Grand Central Station to catch a subway home and didn’t get home until 5:30 p.m. I held it together while walking through the ash by concentrating on having to go home to feed my dog.
