I totally get why you didn’t want to leave. The freedom of working on your own in an environment where you were appreciated along with the freedom of not having to be responsible for another human is a lot to leave behind.
Thank goodness I had your post in my feed reader (da-da-dum!) and it was real good. I took a 3 day sabbatical to visit a friend 6 hours away. Granted, it’s not a continent but, well, I get it. Welcome home
