Where no Gnews is Good Gnews * updated: Now with more Gnews!*

Y’all remember Gary Gnu? After yesterday’s news (including pipe bombs found just blocks from Mr. Flinger’s work), I could use some Gnews.

I’m still waiting on the blood results. No word yet. But, and I quote via screen shot, in the words of an old co-worker:

Don’t I know it, Jan. Don’t. I. Know. It.

***** updated ******

Aha! I got the call. As it turns out, when you are so in tune to your body and go in for a test BEFORE YOU MISS YOUR PERIOD, they can’t tell you anything. Well, who knew? Can I take this to the next level of prego paranoia? Can peeing on sticks BEFORE YOU MISS YOUR PERIOD count? Can having your doctor call and tell you to go back next week be put down in the “you have GOT to be kidding me. You had sex what day? Yesterday? No. Come back later.”

Ok, it wasn’t yesterday. but still.

So, I’m in limbo. Waiting on a job, a baby, a house and just hating the way our dishwasher smells and cramping. Is cramping this early bad? Is it a sign of a misccariage? ‘Cause with such a low HCG level (25) and cramping, I’m a bit scared.

Here’s to a lot higher HCG level on Tuesday. Bring it on, baby. Stick in there.

If it makes you feel any better I’m approximately 6 days late.  Many pee sticks have revealed nothing…I soooooo DON’T want to go to the Gyno.

So perhaps we balance each other out? No?

Oh, I hope you get super news soon!  If you are 8-10 days out, cramping could be a sign of implantation.  I had a little bit of cramping taht I’m pretty sure was the implantation cramp and then a bunch of cramping right around the time I was supossed to get my period.  I spent the day before I tested crying because I was so sure I wasn’t pregnant.  I have heard that you can use the EPT test 4-5 days before you missed your period and get solid results but, if you want to test that early the way to go is apparently the digital test so you don’t have to figure out if you see a line or not.  Good luck!

  • Katie Kat
    J08/12/2006

Yeah, try the EPT test.  My doc told me that if an at-home test says positive, it’s positive no matter what.  There is supposedly no way to get a false positive on those tests (however, you can get a false NEGATIVE).

It’s all so scary/exciting/crazy!  I don’t remember my HCG level, but I do remember the cramping and implantation spotting, so don’t give up hope!

CROSSING ALL CROSSABLES!  Hang in there little flinger!

My first pregnancy I had cramping for about the first 2 months, but nothing really super major. The second pregnancy I severely cramped in the beginning, laying down on the bathroom floor kinda pain.. but the little guy held in there. I think as long as you aren’t bleeding really bad it is a good sign.

I just found out I’m pregnant a few weeks ago and I’ve been cramping for weeks- felt just like I was about to get my period, except the cramping went on and on.  It’s nothing major, just feels like normal time-of-the-month cramps and I’ve read it’s the uterus stretching and is very common.

    Good luck!

I hope it makes you feel better—I DID THE SAME THING with my second. I was absolutely convinced less than a week out. I waited I think a full week and half before going to the doctor only to be told to come back later. So I did.

The next time I learned my lesson. I waited until the day OF my expected period. smile

Dang, I go away and miss all the news. You know when I got pregnant with my son, I knew about a week before I missed my period. I peed on the stick and it came up kinda light, but it was there and two days after that, still before having missed it, I had blood work done and they confirmed it was true, I was pregnant. Sad, the first folks I told were some of my co-workers at the time because I made the call in the break room. smile
