Crap we have

20/Mar/2006

You know how when you were a kid and Christmas was ten days away you thought it would be FORHEVAH. And then, you know how you were in school and you couldn’t wait for Summer break? And remember how you’d watch the clock and look away and guess how long you’ve waited before you looked back? “It’s been… thirty minutes. No! Forty!” then you look up and it’s been, roughly, sixteen seconds?

That is SO NOT my life right now.

  1. I’m thinking you could turn packing into some sort of drinking game? It’s a concept…

  2. omg i am lmao. how about playing a variation of quarters for every box that gets packed.

remember: if you are packing something into a box that most likely will stay in said box for over a year, then you don’t need the shit.

    porcelain shoes? oh GAHd!

And the whole 16 seconds thing? Totally my entire day today. Must be a thing.

  4. Be brutal with the crap.  As much as you can.
Dh and I still have boxes we packed up when we first got married (4 years ago).  Some have never been opened, even after moving another time.  Don’t become us.

So true! So true! I’m not even moving but I’m relating & just IMAGINING what it would be like. Oh gaaawwwwddd!  If I lived out there, I’d be helping ya sister!

  6. I agree… pack nothing unless it gives you joy!  If it doesn’t fit you NOW, hasn’t been used in FOREVER, or you just plain don’t LIKE it…. toss it donate it, and for eff’s sake do NOT put it in a box and tape it up to move.  A fresh start is always nice! smile

  7. Sell everything and buy new.  It’s what I did when I was married to the military.  Then when he would ask where something was, I would just say we had moved since he had used it last.

Thinking of you and I’m glad I’m not you this time.

  9. Ugh…We moved at the beginning of Sept. and our garage STILL has boxes of random things (mostly DH’s junk!)

Freecycle stuff—-people will be eager to come get your treasures!!!

  10. Be proud.. I just threw out a few christmas gifts I faked happiness on.

I don’t fake much. Ask Mr. Flinger. (ha!)

  11. Good luck with the packing!  and getting rid of JUNK!  I always have the hardest time getting rid of things people gave me, even if I don’t like the thing!
