Welcome to the Third Anual Flinger Haircut Post

17/Apr/2006

So, looking back at the archives, I realized about once a year I say, “Internet! I NEED A HAIR CUT!!” and then I post some pictures for you to tell me to cut my hair like option A? B? C? Then I go to the salon and get a haircut like nothing I’ve posted and you tell me I look fab because you are loyal and great like that. I forget to take care of my appearance for, oh, about a year and then I come back and say, “Internet! I NEED A HAIR CUT!”

This year? It’ll be no different.

  1. Up until last Tuesday I hadn’t had a hair cut since last July.  That combined with prenatal vitamins means my hair has GROWN!

Through the years I have tried dozens of cute, short, trendy cuts, but now, that my hair has finally grown, does the hubs tell me that he has hated all of the above mentioned SHORT cuts.  !?!

I’ll be on the lookout for some hair cuteness…we’re doing standardized tests this week, so I have a bit of computer time to search…shhh, don’t tell grin

  2. I’ll try to look for pics for you.  Although I think you look great.  Seriously.

    PS. I’m a recovering Cosmetologist.

  3. The next hairstyle I want to get is what Natalie Portman developed after shaving her hair for her last flick. Lemme see if I can find the link. (not the shave btw)

  4. I’ve never ever been able to find a picture of what I’m looking for.  Must be why I never get what I want.  Can’t wait to see what you come up w/, either way you are still hot!

  5. A few years ago I found that one of the haircoloring sites (like clairol or something) offers a free library of styles.  You simply pop in your photo and you can literally “try on” different hairstyles and even haircolors!

I had so much fun and even though they look a bit cartoony, it gave me a great idea of what would look good on this noggin.

When I got my last cut I first researched my face shape and then googled hairstyles for that face shape.  Armed with that knowledge I went to the salon and the gal whipped my hair into shape! I was so happy! (even though my damn hubby called it a mullet…granted that was during a fight! LOL)

Of course there is always the super easy way of writing to Oprah and getting on her show and getting a FAB-ulous make-over. (okay maybe not so easy!) smile

  7. Whatever you do it will look great.  I am particularly fond of the color you put in it awhile back, but I know that requires upkeep and with a toddler that is almost impossible!

  8. Ohhhh, Starshine! I’m totally occupied now!

And ya, short hair = not what the mister wants but SOOoooo what the Mrs. wants. Of course now? MR. Flinger says, “I want your hair whatever way will make you NOT TALK ABOUT IT.”

    Me, too.

  9. Oh, I had to check out that on ivillage and the clariol website.  Those are TOO fun, I wasted about an hour of study time playing instead.  Who knew that I would look so great in ash blond hair and green eyes!! (I have brown eyes and dark brown hair!)  I’m jealous of ya’ll who can wear short hair styles.  I did that once, and it was awful, I have such a round face, I looked like a pumkin!  Rock the short hair if you can pull it off!

  10. Oh, meant to say, Mrs.Flinger, going off of pics I’ve seen of you, the short hair looks so, so cute on you.  Ya’ll suck with your cute short hair.  I want :-(
